Mobile Muse 3 - A Tale of Two Cities
Mobile Muse is excited to be moving forward with deployments of our innovative mobile services in two distinct yet parallel communities - Whistler and Vancouver's Downtown East Side. In this third phase of Mobile Muse, we shall be engaging both of these communities through representative cultural and community organizations (leading the way are Gallery Gachet in the DTES, and Resort TV in Whistler) to launch innovative mobile services that both enliven public spaces and broaden community media creation and sharing.
Our jurying process (which began with an Open Call in September 2007 and concluded with our Showcase Forum at the end of February 2008) was not easy, as there were some very strong proposals from the likes of the Vancouver Aquarium, 7th Floor Media, The Donat Group, Public Dreams Society and Montréal's La Société des arts technologiques.
To all organizations that have thus far participated in our Open Call (and in the process of doing so contributed greatly to the overall shaping of what MUSE3 is all about) we'd like to extend a heartfelt thanks, and an open invitation to continue the dialogue we've already started.
To that end, I would like to invite our pool of Open Call participants to submit letters of interest around our Prototype Development Program. Over the next several weeks Mobile Muse will unveil the details of this initiative, which will be purposed to fund a number of smaller projects that make use of our platform technologies in innovative ways in our communities. Letters (email, that is) should indicate a familiarity with the core themes of MUSE3, and should be addressed to jean at mobile muse dot ca.
Stay tuned for more from MUSE3!
