Biennale sculptures in the news
You might remember our discussions about the user experience research we conducted through mobilemuse, Nokia, and the metrocode application. The research centered around users' responses to sharing information about the sculptures using a mobile device and the cell phone tour. I posted some discussion at Constructing Amusement about common questions to do with qualitative research in this case as well.
It's interesting to know from a neat little tidbit on the CBC in a story about the Vancouver Sculpture Biennale , that some pieces raised about $3 million in an auction. Some of the works will stay in Vancouver (about five of them). The money raised will help support the next Biennale in 2009, with international artists again asked to create work for Vancouver.
The year 2009 is only a stone's throw away, but it's interesting to think of how mobile applications, techno-sociability, and mobile cultural experiences will differ from now until then and beyond. Will a clickable city be more within reach?
